This morning I went to church, we had Bible study before service. The topic that we have been studying is “Glorify and Glorification”. As we read the different verses our study book referred to I came across one that made me stop.
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:18)
The thought that came to my mind was that I cannot comprehend a level of goodness or splendor that would make all the bad of this world seem small. Yet God’s glory is that big. I have a pretty good life, I have a really good life, in fact. My life has been blessed and easy in comparison to the lives of others. Yet even I have days, more often then I’d like to mention, when I wonder, what’s the point? Is it really worth it?
Today I was filled with hope, that despite my inability to understand, God will be glorified. And one day God’s glory will encompass his children. We will see what a life free of sin could possibly mean. Right now we can not possibly comprehend such an existence, but some day it will be made clear. What a humbling concept, that God would have mercies enough to extend His glory to even us, mere humans.
